Settlement
Every line from product sales to reserves, reimbursements and sales tax, with the expected deposit and a fee breakdown.
One workbook for the monthly ritual: rebuild the settlement, match the bank, post the journal and close the period without a suspense account.
Best for: Sellers and bookkeepers reconciling Amazon or multi-channel settlements in QuickBooks, Xero or a spreadsheet ledger.
Every line from product sales to reserves, reimbursements and sales tax, with the expected deposit and a fee breakdown.
Twelve payout slots with a one-cent tolerance, a short/over status and a place to write the explanation.
A balanced entry for cash, fees, promotions, refunds, reserve, sales, reimbursements and other income, with a debit/credit check.
A 12-step checklist with status, owner, due date and a completion percentage.
Settlement anatomy, why the deposit is not revenue, common reconciling items and sources.
Enter the marketplace, period and currency, then copy every line with the sign Amazon uses.
The settlement lines build the deposit. Sales tax stays a memo because Amazon collects and remits it.
Enter the deposit date and amount. A difference inside one cent is a match; anything larger needs an explanation.
Copy the journal lines into your ledger, check debits equal credits, then work the month-end checklist.
It does not connect to Seller Central, file a claim, post to your ledger or give tax advice. It organizes the numbers and the evidence so the decision — or the filing — is faster and better.
The deposit is net of fees, refunds and reserves. Booking it as revenue understates both revenue and expenses and makes the P&L useless for pricing.
A reserve is cash Amazon holds back temporarily. It is still your asset: debit the reserve asset when it is held and credit it when it is released. It is not a fee.
The line names are marketplace-neutral. The example uses Amazon because its settlement has the most line types, but the structure works for any payout report with sales, fees, refunds and reserves.
It is a balanced draft with suggested accounts. Check the account names, tax treatment and rounding against your own ledger before posting.
TidyPayouts does for all your payouts what this workbook does for one.
