Bring the payout in.
Connect the channel where a beta connection exists, or download the payout report and drop it in. Every line item is kept, with a trail back to the source report.
Connect your sales channel to QuickBooks. Each guide below shows exactly how payouts flow from the marketplace into QuickBooks Online — what gets imported, what you map once, and what lands in your chart of accounts.
Find the right setup for your store.
Beta workflows vary by channel; CSV imports work everywhere.
Settlement flat files or the beta connection. Referral and FBA fees, storage, advertising, reserves and marketplace-collected tax — every line in its place.
Read the Amazon guide →Payout reports from Shopify Payments: gross sales, refunds, processing fees, chargebacks and reserves, posted as one entry that matches the deposit.
Read the Shopify guide →Final value fees, Promoted Listings, label costs and dispute holds — download the payouts CSV from Seller Hub and let TidyPayouts sort it out.
Read the eBay guide →Listing, transaction and processing fees, Offsite Ads, labels and the tax Etsy collects — your weekly deposit, fully explained.
Read the Etsy guide →Referral and WFS fees, returns, adjustments and operational chargebacks from Seller Center settlement reports — reconciled to the deposit.
Read the Walmart guide →Every pair works the same way.
Only the import differs.
Connect the channel where a beta connection exists, or download the payout report and drop it in. Every line item is kept, with a trail back to the source report.
Map each line type to an account in your QuickBooks chart of accounts. Mappings are reusable — set them once and every future payout follows them.
Resolve unmapped lines, look over flagged fees, and compare the net against the deposit that actually arrived. Nothing posts until you approve it.
One balanced journal entry, dated the deposit date, nets to the penny of your bank feed. Reversible and re-postable if you change a mapping later.
Your P&L shows real margins — not one blob
called “marketplace sales.”
| Account (as you mapped it) | Debit | Credit |
|---|---|---|
| Checking account the deposit itself | $8,425.20 | |
| Refunds & returns refunds, plus fees given back | $284.00 | |
| Marketplace fees referral, FBA and storage | $1,530.80 | |
| Product sales net of your promotions | $10,240.00 | |
| Totals | $10,240.00 | $10,240.00 |
One journal entry per payout, dated the deposit date. The entry nets to $8,425.20 — the amount that hit the bank — so QuickBooks’ bank feed matches without manual reconciling. Advertising and sales tax, when present, get their own mapped lines.
Xero workflows are planned. QuickBooks Online is the accounting connection available during beta — join the free beta and you’ll hear from us when Xero lands. Accounting software subscriptions are always separate.
The QuickBooks connection is part of the beta and availability is rolling out by account. Every guide includes a CSV import workflow you can use today, and you can move to the direct connection as soon as it’s offered to you. Check connection status inside the app before relying on a live import or post.
Either. Beta connections are available for some channels and CSV imports work for all of them. Both paths produce the same thing: a full breakdown of the payout, ready to map, review and post.
One balanced journal entry per payout, dated the deposit date. Sales, refunds, fees, advertising and tax land in the accounts you mapped, and the entry nets to the deposit amount, so it matches your bank feed to the penny.
Yes — that’s the point. TidyPayouts is built around reviewable summaries, reusable mappings and source records, so you and your bookkeeper can check everything before it reaches your books.
