Bring the deposit in.
Download the payment account CSV from Etsy’s Finances and drop it in. A direct Etsy connection is in progress — meanwhile the CSV workflow covers everything, line by line, with a trail back to the source file.
Etsy’s Monday deposit mixes sales with listing, transaction and processing fees, Offsite Ads, labels and collected tax. TidyPayouts reads your payment account CSV, maps every line, and posts one reviewed journal entry that matches the deposit to the penny.
Small fees add up.
Give each one an account.
Set it up once.
Then it’s just review and post.

Map each line type to an account in your QuickBooks chart of accounts — sales, listing and transaction fees, processing, Offsite Ads, labels, tax. Mappings are reusable: set them once, and every future deposit follows.
Resolve unmapped lines, look over Offsite Ads activity, and compare the net against the payment that actually arrived. Nothing posts until you approve it.
One balanced journal entry, dated the deposit date, nets to the penny of your bank feed. Reversible and re-postable if you change a mapping later.
Your P&L shows real Etsy margins —
every fee named and counted.
| Account (as you mapped it) | Debit | Credit |
|---|---|---|
| Checking account the deposit itself | $1,848.75 | |
| Refunds & returns refunded orders | $74.00 | |
| Etsy fees listing, transaction, processing | $187.30 | |
| Advertising — Offsite Ads when it applies | $39.95 | |
| Sales — Etsy item and shipping revenue | $2,150.00 | |
| Totals | $2,150.00 | $2,150.00 |
One journal entry per deposit, dated the deposit date. The entry nets to $1,848.75 — the amount that hit the bank — so QuickBooks’ bank feed matches without manual reconciling. Labels and marketplace-collected tax or VAT, when present, get their own mapped lines. Made a mistake or changed a mapping? Entries can be reversed and re-posted without losing the trail back to the source report.
Most of this is one-time work.
After that, a deposit takes minutes.

In the app, go to Settings → Account settings and connect QuickBooks with your Intuit login. Owner access in TidyPayouts is required, and the connection syncs your chart of accounts so mapping uses your real account names. Availability is rolling out during beta; check connection status inside the app.
In Shop Manager, go to Finances → Payment account and download the CSV for the deposit or date range you need. Import it into TidyPayouts; each deposit becomes its own review. A direct Etsy connection is in progress and will replace the download when it reaches your account.
Assign each line type — sales, listing and transaction fees, processing, Offsite Ads, labels, refunds, tax and VAT — to an account. Sensible defaults get you most of the way; adjust anything to match your chart.
Compare the net against the actual payment, look over Offsite Ads and refunds, and add product costs if you track COGS. Unmapped lines are held out (and clearly listed) rather than guessed into an account.
Send the journal entry to QuickBooks, then match the payment in your bank feed. Done — on to the next Monday deposit, with the whole trail kept for review.
In Shop Manager, go to Finances → Payment account and download the CSV for the deposit or date range you need — monthly statements and the VAT statement are there too. Import it into TidyPayouts and the deposit is broken down into sales, fees, Offsite Ads, refunds, labels and tax.
Yes. Where Etsy collects VAT or sales tax on your behalf, it is imported as its own line type and mapped to a liability account — or excluded as a pure pass-through, if that’s how your bookkeeper treats marketplace-collected tax. Either way it never inflates your income.
Yes. Digital sales flow through Etsy Payments just like physical orders, so they appear in your sales lines with their fees attached. Product costs simply stay empty unless you assign them.
The QuickBooks connection is part of the beta and availability is rolling out by account. Etsy deposits use the CSV import workflow today, and a direct Etsy connection is in progress — you can move to it as soon as it’s offered to your account. Check connection status inside the app before relying on a live import or post.
Yes — that’s the point. Summaries, mappings and source records are all reviewable, and nothing posts until someone approves it. If a posted entry needs to change, it’s reversed and re-posted rather than edited behind the scenes.
