What can you afford
to pay for a sale?
Advertising only works when the margin behind each sale can carry it. Enter your price and per-unit costs to get your break-even ACoS and ROAS, then add your campaign numbers to see whether it is actually making money.

The two formulas
- ACoS = ad spend ÷ ad-attributed sales.
- ROAS = ad-attributed sales ÷ ad spend. It is simply 1 ÷ ACoS.
- Break-even ACoS = your profit per unit before ads ÷ your selling price.
Reading the result
If your ACoS is below break-even, each ad-driven sale still earns a profit. If it is above, you are paying more for the sale than the sale earns. Many sellers deliberately run above break-even for a launch, to build rank and reviews. That is a choice to make with open eyes, with a defined end date.
What is a good ACoS?+
There is no universal number. A good ACoS is one below your break-even ACoS, and below your target ACoS if you want a defined profit margin after advertising.
What is the difference between ACoS and ROAS?+
They are the same relationship inverted. ACoS is spend divided by sales; ROAS is sales divided by spend. A 25% ACoS is a 4× ROAS.
Why does the calculator ignore organic sales?+
Attribution differs between platforms and campaigns. This tool measures the direct economics of ad-attributed sales so you have a conservative break-even.
Where do I get my ad numbers?+
From your marketplace’s advertising reports for the same date range. Use totals for one campaign or one product at a time for useful results.
